Smart athletes

Congratulations to Duanesburg’s fall sports teams: All of them have been named Scholar-Athlete teams by the New York Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). They qualified for recognition as Scholar-Athletes by achieving a team average of 90% or higher. Fall sports at DCS include golf, cross country, swimming, soccer, volleyball, and football. Go Eagles!

It’s an honor to serve others

National Honor Society member students lent a hand at the Salvation Army in Schenectady on Friday, Nov. 15, helping to prepare and serve about 75 meals. The student volunteer annually at the Salvation Army as a service to the greater community.  

Celebrating Hispanic heritage

To celebrate Hispanic heritage, Duanesburg Jr./Sr. High School students decorated a bulletin board with pictures of important Hispanic people, and they and Spanish teacher Isabel Kalin dressed up as Hispanic Americans who have influenced our country.

Amazing swimmers; on to the states

On Friday, Nov. 8, the girls varsity swim team “had an amazing day with time drops from everyone, with 11 of 13 swimmers returning to swim in Saturday’s finals,” reported PE Director Penny Hardenstine.
