Zoey Lints wins NY state title in first-ever NYSPHSAA girls wrestling tournament

Senior Zoey Lints is a NY STATE CHAMPION wrestler!

Zoey was one of 35 female wrestlers from Section 2 to compete this past weekend at the SRC Arena in Syracuse for the first-ever NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Tournament.

As the #1 seed in the 138 pound bracket, Zoey made quick work of her opponents in her first three matches, securing three first period pins in :27 seconds, :27 seconds and :31 seconds, before winning her championship match 7-3.

Zoey attends Schoharie High School, but competes as part of the merged Duanesburg-Schoharie wrestling team. Her state championship title is the first ever – of ANY sport – to be earned by a Schoharie athlete.

The entire school community is very proud of all that Zoey has accomplished, how she represents the team and carries herself in an Eagles singlet, and for the outstanding role model that she is for our younger athletes.
