Update May 1: Message for parents from the superintendent

Dear Duanesburg parents and guardians,

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced during his May 1 press briefing that New York schools will remain closed through the end of the school year to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Our teachers have been in contact with students and their families to provide instructional materials and will continue to do so throughout this extended closure in accordance with the district’s plan for continuing instruction.

The district’s food service department will continue to provide meals for all who need assistance. The weekend backpack program is also continuing. Please reach out to Mary Jewell, Food Services Director, at (518) 895-3000, ext. 228.

Child care resources, including scholarships, are available for parents and guardians who are considered essential workers during the closure. Details may be found on our website at https://www.duanesburg.org/coronavirus-covid-19-updates/ .

Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this challenging time. The district will continue to provide updates as information becomes available on the webpage listed above. We appreciate your support and understanding.

Sincerely,
Jeffery Ziegler
Interim Superintendent of Schools
