Sunday’s Zombie Fun Run kicks off Homecoming Week

Don’t forget! Duanesburg Community Parent Teacher Association’s Zombie Fun Run and Chili Cook-Off is from noon to 4 p.m., THIS SUNDAY, Oct.  3.

As the kick-off to the DCS Homecoming Week, the Zombie Fun Run will include Jr./Sr. High School student-athletes dressing up as zombies on our Elementary School short fun run course. The zombies will try to retrieve a flag football banner pinned to each runner. The DCS team with the most flags at the end of the day wins a prize.

Anyone in our community (and surrounding communities) is welcome to run. Registration is $5 and available on our website, or you can sign-up at the door:

We will also be hosting our Chili Cook-Off on the same day. If you have the best chili in all the land, please consider entering our cook-off for top honors and bragging rights! If you can’t stay for the entire event to serve chili, we have volunteers to help. First place wins $50, second place wins $30, third place wins $20. You can enter our cook-off here:

Concessions (including cider and doughnuts from Altamont Orchards) and a basket raffle (with offerings from local businesses and featured items like standalone basketball hoops and pop=up tents perfect for sporting events) will also be available. Details on basket raffle items can be found on our Facebook page.

If you are interested in volunteering, we still have slots available here:

You do not need to be a DCPTA member to volunteer, compete or participate, but membership is always appreciated. You can take advantage of early bird membership rates here:
