Leading Change for the Common Good

You are invited to join a virtual conference and collaborate with students from across the region to discuss issues of equity and inclusion. The summit is designed to provide a forum for dialogue and reflection for students interested in making equitable changes to their schools. The summit aims to inspire and empower students to take action on creating an inclusive environment in our schools, and normalize talking about those efforts. The event will include keynote sessions in partnership with SUNY Schenectady and SchenEquity. As a participant, you have the opportunity to cultivate your cultural awareness and advocacy skills. The end goal is to create an advocacy group run by students that is focused on student equity and inclusion.

Before the event, we invite you and the students in your school to use some activities the Duanesburg Jr./Sr. High School Student Council has created about identity and equity.  Materials are available on Google Drive.

Representatives from participating schools will meet before the summit to craft a charter that spells out an organizational mission and action steps.
