One Call Now notifies all parents/guardians about emergencies

As part of the district’s effort to communicate better and faster, DCS is now using the One Call Now mass notification/emergency all call system to text and call all parents/guardians about matters of importance to current K-12 students.

This web-based messaging system automatically integrates contact information from the district’s student management system, E-School Data, for parents/guardians of enrolled students.

A test text message was sent to all cell numbers on file on Nov. 15.  A test phone call will be sent in the near future.

We encourage parents/guardians not to opt out of this system, however those with multiple numbers on file will be able to decide which numbers would not get contacted. To opt out of text messaging, text the word STOP to 22300. If you choose to add that number back in, text the word Alert to 22300.

Unlike SNN, One Call Now is not a subscription service; parents/guardians are automatically included using the contact information they have provided to the district. Any parents/guardians who have provided a cell number who did not receive the test text on Nov. 15 should contact the DCS school registrar, Joanne Boyd, at jboyd@duanesburg.org.

The goal of One Call Now is to quickly reach all parents/guardians for whom the district has contact information, not just those who choose to subscribe to SNN. Please be sure not to block One Call Now.
