Jan. 20: COVID-19 positive case; HS remote through Jan. 22

Dear DCS families,

The Duanesburg Central School District was informed that a member of the Jr/Sr High School has tested positive and another individual in an unrelated case in the Jr/Sr High School is presumed positive for COVID-19.

The district has taken immediate steps to notify Schenectady County Public Health Services. The district is working closely with SCPHS and following all guidance provided by them.

Based on its contact tracing protocols, SCPHS has determined that several students and staff members in the Jr/Sr High School will be quarantined. These individuals will be notified today by school personnel. This results in a staffing shortage.

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 20, the Jr/Sr High School will pivot to Remote Learning through Friday, Jan. 22.

The Elementary School also remains remote. The Jr/Sr High School and the Elementary School will reopen for in-person classes on Monday, Jan. 25. Off-campus programming will proceed as normal.
