Feb. 11: COVID-19 positive cases notification

Dear DCS Community:

Today the Duanesburg Central School District was informed that a student in the Jr/Sr High School has tested positive for COVID-19.  This student was last in the building on February 3.  We were also notified that an Elementary School student has tested positive. This student member was last at work on February 4.

Schenectady County Public Health Services has notified us that seven members of our school community will be required to quarantine in association with these cases. Our school nurse is in the process of notifying those individuals.

At this time, our Elementary School will operate normally with in-person instruction. We will continue to use emergency transportation protocols. The Jr/Sr High School will remain fully remote.

I anticipate that the Jr/Sr High School will return to in-person/hybrid instruction for all learners after the Winter Break on February 22. Regular transportation routes will also resume after the Winter Break. Thank you for your patience and partnership during our transportation staff shortage.

We appreciate your continued support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

 Dr. James Niedermeier
Superintendent of Schools
