Citing safety concerns, the district plans to construct a new bus loop near the front of the Elementary School. The project would move the student drop-off and pick-up area from the shared driveway and parking lot near the front door, where personal vehicles, pedestrians and school buses are often in close proximity.
The new loop would be located at the north side of the the parking lot and include another roadway connecting Route 7 with the school property. See more details here: Bus Loop Proposal Rendering
The project, which would have no impact on school taxes, is up for a public vote from 1 to 9 p.m., Sept. 23, in the Elementary School lobby.
A public information meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 14, in the High School’s Joe Bena Hall.
