Driver Permission, Parking Permits and Parking Lot Rules

Driver Permission/Parking Permits/Parking Lot Rules (print-friendly version)

Driving to school is a privilege and should not be taken for granted. Students who do not follow school rules, chronically absent, or chronically tardy will have their parking privileges suspended.

The following parking rules must be followed if you are to retain your parking privilege:

Your vehicle must be registered. To register a vehicle you must complete a “Driver Permission” form and return it to the main office. Vehicles not registered may be subject to removal. If you drive a different vehicle to school that is not registered, It is your responsibility to supply the main office with vehicle information.

No students are allowed to park in the visitor or staff parking areas.

Drivers must enter and exit from parking areas in a safe and courteous manner. Follow a 5 mph speed limit while on school property.

You are not to visit your car during the day unless you have permission from the main office. Keep your car locked at all times.

Any use of the vehicle that results in violation of state traffic laws or reckless endangerment to students or the Duanesburg School system will result in revocation of the driving privilege.

Students who attend CTE (BOCES) classes are not permitted to drive to CTE (BOCES) campuses (Schoharie/Albany/Mohonasen) without first receiving approval from the building principal AND the CTE principal.

Violation of these rules may lead to temporary or permanent loss of driving privileges.
