All new courses will be discussed at the department level – paperwork needs to be complete (describing the need for the course and the course’s impact)

Proposal is brought to the Department Chairs – a subcommittee will be formed to further discuss the proposal (grading policy, pre-requisites, UHS or AP designation, etc.)

Subcommittee members seek further information from area schools on similar courses and overview from New York State Department of Education

Recommendation is presented to Superintendent

Recommendation is presented to Board of Education

DUANESBURG CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL COURSE PROPOSAL FORM

In an effort to streamline and expedite our course approval process, please complete all sections of this packet. Failure to submit this proposal in its entirety may delay your presentation to the Department Chair Curriculum Committee and the Duanesburg Board of Education. All new course proposals need to be submitted by December 31 of the year prior to when the course is anticipated to begin. This allows for time needed for Department Chair Curriculum Committee’s consideration, securing student interest, and scheduling and budget concerns.
