Congratulations to the DCS golf team on another impressive year!

The team, which is coached by high school social studies teacher David Schalekamp, took home WAC Cup trophy for the third consecutive year – and the fourth time in five years. Other very impressive accolades from the WAC Cup tournament included:

Senior Grant Raymond is the 2023 WAC Conference Boys Golf MVP.

– Grant Raymond and 9th grader Collin Lussier were named co-medalists for the tournament (84).

– Collin Lussier, junior Porter Losito, and junior Chloe Galvin were all voted 1st Team All Stars.

– Chloe Galvin tied for 2nd in the tournament (90) and Porter Losito tied for 3rd (93).

Chloe Galvin competes on the co-ed golf team, and even though she turned in five qualifying rounds for boys sectionals, she competed in the Section 2 girls’ sectional tournament on Wednesday, October 11. Chloe is the first Duanesburg female golfer to qualify for BOTH boys’ AND girls’ sectional tournaments.

Collin Lussier, Grant Raymond and Porter Losito competed in the boys sectional tournament on Tuesday, October 10. Because there were three of them, the trio was allowed to compete as a team and represent Duanesburg. Unfortunately, none of our golfers will move on to the next round, which would have been state qualifiers – but they are still to be commended on wrapping up a very, very impressive season!
