Vision – Duanesburg Central School District will become a model for smaller school districts in New York State. Instructional excellence will be the bedrock of the district characterized by a strong academic core, technology integration and a challenging and stimulating curriculum. Our educational program will include enrichment, interdisciplinary teaching and active roles for students. All students will be challenged and supported to achieve their highest abilities.  The district will value its students and staff. The community will value and participate in our mission. Our facilities will promote our mission.

Goals – The goal of the Duanesburg Central School District’s Board of Education is to represent and serve students, district residents, faculty, staff, administrators and district volunteers through policy development, thoughtful planning of academic programming, facilities management and fiscal responsibility to ensure the highest level of achievement and preparation of our student body.

2. Approve ECA Advisor and Stipend.

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Duanesburg Central School District, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does hereby appoint Kevin DiTondo to the position of Outing Club Advisor, effective retroactive to September 1, 2017.  Mr. DiTondo shall be paid a stipend of $1,170. Stipend per year.

Recommendation that the Duanesburg Board of Education approve the following substitute and ECA appointment as recommended by the superintendent and building principal.  All appointments are pending fingerprint clearance.  ECA appointments are for the applicable 2018-19 sport season, beginning with pre-season practice and ending at the conclusion of the season, including sectional play.  All appointments are “employees at will” and the appointment at this time does not guarantee employment for the entire school season/term/year.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education hereby approves the appointment of Melissa Daviero as a long-term substitute to cover the leave of absence of teacher, Amanda Chovan, Elementary Art teacher, effective October 1 – November 25, 2018. No term of employment is conferred by this resolution of appointment and Ms. Daviero’s employment may be terminated at any time.
