All DES students to receive FREE breakfast & lunch at school starting Wednesday, Nov. 1

We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled at Duanesburg Elementary School will be able to receive FREE breakfast and lunch meals at school beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023.

This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.

The CEP provision only applies to students at Duanesburg Elementary School and does not apply to students at Duanesburg Junior-Senior High School.

The provision only covers breakfast and lunch. It does NOT cover the costs of any additional a la carte items (milk, yogurt, ice cream, cookies, etc.) that your student may want to purchase in the cafeteria. Students can either pay for these items with cash, or pay digitally through their Linq Connect account, which must have a positive account balance in order to use it.

Students who have a balance on their Linq Connect account can leave the funds in place and use it to pay for additional a la carte items. If families would rather receive a refund of their Linq Connect balance, you must put your request in writing and email it to Jeffrey Rivenburg, Assistant Superintendent for Management Services, at jrivenburg@duanesburg.org.
