The school’s PBIS program led an activity that gave every student the chance to share what they are grateful for and set goals for the remainder of the year. PBIS stands for positive behavioral interventions and supports. It focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior of all students. The emphasis is on developing and maintaining a safe environment where teachers can teach and students can learn.

“The focus of the day was building classroom community,” Principal Jodi Marvin said. “They concentrated on goal setting and being appreciative during this unique school year. Teachers focused on reteaching expectations of remote and in-person learning.”

“Their goals are very detailed and well thought out,” Marvin said.

The PBIS activity helped set the stage for this week’s virtual wellness program. The district has shared various online wellness resources to help support students.

As part of the PBIS program, students are able to earn Eagle Bucks for demonstrating safe, respectful, responsible behaviors throughout the third quarter.  All Eagle Bucks will be entered into drawings for the four raffle baskets on display in the main office lobby at the start of the fourth quarter.
