Dear DCS Community:
Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidelines for masking, and in particular, updated guidelines for masking in schools. Currently, Duanesburg CSD is in the new CDC “Green Zone,” which means that we have a low risk of infection.
In cooperation with the other superintendents of the region, I have signed on to the attached letter to the governor and the NYSDOH commissioner advocating that the mask mandates for schools and buses be removed in accordance with these new recommendations. We remain obligated to follow the existing mandate until it is removed. We have asked that an announcement be made prior to our return from break, but I do not yet have an indication about when it will occur. I will certainly let you know as soon as I hear anything.
