Good health – including physical, emotional and social wellness – is central to learning and student success. With this in mind, Duanesburg Superintendent Frank Macri will host a Superintendent’s Wellness Café the evening of Wednesday, March 6, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Joe Bena Auditorium in the high school.
All are invited to this community event, which will focus on strategies to promote health and wellness at all ages. Superintendent Macri will host guest speakers Nancy E. Jones, Director of Prevention at New Choices Recovery Center; Michele Fonda, Prevention Specialist at New Choices Recovery Center; a young adult in recovery through the RSS Living Room at Ellis; a young adult in recovery and coordinator of Youth Voices Matter NY; DCS School Social Worker Kristin Mills; and DCS School Resource Officer Eric Reyell.
“All are welcome at our Wellness Café,” Superintendent Macri said. “It will be particularly valuable for parents and guardians of grades 7-12 students, who will benefit from knowledge and experience shared by our guest speakers, including the young people in recovery.”
RSVPs are not necessary for the event.
