NHS named Champions of Character

8 high school students pose as group with certificate

Duanesburg Jr./Sr. High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society was honored with the Champion of Character Student Group Award by the Academy for Character Education of The Sage Colleges.

The students received the award at a May 15 ceremony at the Century House in Latham. They were honored for leadership, service and excellent performance and for their many community service activities, such as preparing and serving meals at the Salvation Army, adopting a family in need during the holidays and fundraising for the PTA.

The Academy for Character Education of The Sage Colleges was established to foster responsibility, civility, respect, honesty, fairness, trustworthiness and citizenship among students, families and communities. The Academy provides training institutes, in-service days for educators, leadership training for students and specialized programs for communities.

Congratulations to the students and NHS advisor Lisa Della Rocco.
