Work continues on the cleanup of a contained construction-related fuel leak in front of the high school, where soil is being excavated and removed.
The leak occurred in August 2017 when a construction company contracted to work at Duanesburg Jr./Sr. High School punctured a heating fuel line outside of the building.
When the leak was detected, the district immediately notified the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) spill response unit and steps were taken to stop the leak, identify the extent of the leak and contain its spread. The district continues working with DEC as cleanup continues.
A May 2018 news post on this website provided information about the leak. Questions may be directed to DCS Superintendent Frank Macri at firstname.lastname@example.org, (518) 895-2279.
