June 26, 2009—Duanesburg
Central School District teachers and support staff were
recognized for their outstanding contributions to Duanesburg
students and the entire school community on Thursday, June
25, during an awards ceremony held in their honor.
The following individuals were recognized with certificates
for the awards listed below:

Denise
Green, elementary school reading teacher
District Vision—Awarded to a teacher who displays
exemplary commitment to achieving the district vision
and has engaged in practices at the school and district
level to achieve those goals.

Rebecca
Meyer, middle/high school English teacher
Jessie Westfall, first grade teacher
School Culture—Awarded to a teacher who conducts herself
with great professionalism, is encouraging to other
teachers and makes active efforts to reach students and
staff in a positive manner throughout the school.

Linda
Chiras, middle/high school science teacher
Melissa Walsh, second grade teacher
Classroom Instruction—Awarded to a teacher who
consistently activates, engages and inspires student
learning and solicits student participation in a broad
interest of activities.

Forslund, first grade teacher
Brian McGarry, sixth grade teacher
Outstanding Parent Communication—Awarded to a teacher
who creates a partnership between parents and the school
to foster excellent communication to improve student
performance.

Bonnie
Chiofalo, middle/high school aide
Lois Teschka, elementary school special education aide
Outstanding Support Staff—Awarded to a teacher aide who
is continuously supportive of teachers and students by
motivating others, engaging in positive interactions,
and demonstrating excellent work ethic.
