DCS AM ANNOUNCEMENTS
Monday, May 14, 2012 – Day 2

Attn. Students in grades 8-11: Voting to elect next year’s Student Council Co-Presidents will be Wednesday, May 16th during lunch periods.

Attn. Boys Basketball Players: If you are interested in playing boys summer league basketball at the JV level, you need to sign up by this Friday May 18th. We are currently at only 4 players and need more for the team to able to participate. Anyone interested please go to the athletic office for more info.


The Spring Sports Award Ceremony will be held on Tues. 6/12, 6:30 pm. All Spring Athletes should attend.

Fall sports physicals will be held Tuesday, 6/5 - 8:00 am to noon. Please make an appt. with Mrs. Newsome. All forms needed to be submitted prior to the physical date.

The varsity softball team picked up three big wins over the weekend. Friday Dani Hennel no hit Sharon Springs which gave the Lady Eagles a perfect league record of 12-0. Things only got better Saturday. With Rachel Gamache and Stephanie Rice hitting homeruns and Dani throwing two complete games the team captured the Lake George Softball Tournament. They shut out host Lake George 11-0 in the opener and beat state ranked Ticonderoga 9-4 in the nightcap. The teams overall record now stands at 14-2. Today they host Canajoharie as they compete for the WAC Cup.

The JV softball team also had a pretty good Saturday. The squad knocked off Lake George 14-8 and Ticonderoga 20-10. The two wins improve the team’s record to 9-4. Please see Coach Reiter later in the day for location of today’s practice.

The first annual Relay for Life of Duanesburg will be June 15 at the Duanesburg Elementary School! To learn more about the event stop by the Kick-Off Event Wednesday at the DACC, 7:30pm or check out the website relayforlife.org/duanesburgny.
 

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Track Team for placing 2nd overall at the Cherry Valley Invitational
The 4X400 relay broke the school record!!!! Maddy Kenyon, Mackenzie McQueeney, Abby Schaible and Ciara Fisher with a time of 4:12.8 they also placed first in the 4X100.
Maddy Kenyon broke the meet record placing first in the 400.
Kileen Iveson placed 4th in Discus and 6th in Shot. She set a new personal record in discus.
Andrea Barton placed 6th in 100 Hurdles and 4th in the high jump.
Maeve McKeeby placed 3rd in the 800 and 7th in the 400.
Abby Schaible placed 1st in the 400 Hurdles.
Ciara Fisher placed 1st in the 1500 with a new personal record shaving 7 seconds off her last time.
Katie Gregory placed 1st in the 3000 with new personal record and 4th in the 1500 with a new personal record shaving 7 seconds off her last time.
The 4X200 relay placed 2nd with Taylor Morrison, Maeve McKeeby, Andrea Barton, and Connelly Holmes.
Mackenzie McQueeney placed 3rd in the 200 meter dash.
Taylor Morrison won the will-to-win award.
Maddy Kenyon won the overall female track athlete award
Excellent job to everyone!!!
