Overview

Duanesburg High School is home to approximately 338 students in ninth through twelfth grade. Students can choose from nearly 100 course offerings ranging from traditional courses to more unique opportunities, such as distance learning and college-level work through Advanced Placement, University in the High School and Project Lead the Way courses.

Juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in education may participate in the district's full-year Basic Education for Student Teachers (BEST) program, which places students into an elementary-level classroom five times per week where they gain hands-on experience with a certified teacher. Students may also choose to participate in BOCES Career & Technical School.

Classes run on a six day cycle and meet as often as everyday or as little as once in a cycle. All subjects are graded numerically with a passing grade of 65 percent.

The student's class average is calculated by the mean of all courses attempted, passed and/or failed. All classes are weighted equally; grades are not.

In addition to the wide array of academic programs, the district offers a full breadth of extracurricular activities, including nine sports teams and about 25 fun and interactive after-school clubs.
