DES embraces fire safety week
During Fire Safety Week in
October, students in Mrs. Minute's Kindergarten class received a
visit from fire fighters in the Duanesburg Fire Department. Students
listened to a lesson from fire fighters on the dangers of fires, how
to help prevent them and what to do in case of a fire. Some students
even donned the fire fighters' protective gear and helmets, but
seemed to enjoy the toy fire hats that they were given for being
good students and participating in fire safety. Students colored in
pictures of fire department badges, talked about what an evacuation
plan is, and asked fire fighters many questions. Ask you child about
his or her visit with Duanesburg's heroes!
