Students inducted into National Honor Society

 

On May 17, more than a dozen Duanesburg students were inducted into the National Honor Society. A ceremony was held in the high school gym where the select choir opened the ceremony and current National Honor Society students welcomed the inductees who are Caitlin Gurney, Danielle Hennel, Ashley Isabella, Olivia Ash, Zach Fields, Emily Galea, Laura Antillion, Katie Todd, Jason Cramer, Henry Holmes, Lydia Mackie, Mary Rachel Keville, Samantha Rokos and Zachary McKeeby.

After welcome remarks and an explanation of the NHS selection process, inductees were individually introduced and presented with NHS pins and membership certificates. After the recitation of the NHS pledge, students and their parents were invited to a reception in the library. Also at the ceremony, High School Principal Beth DeLuke announced the Class of 2011 Valedictorian, Alyssa Galea, and the Salutatorian, Gabby Hyrny, and the students who are in the top 10 percent of the graduating class--Gabby Hyrny, Emily Murray, Aaron Casper, Ashlyn McGarry, Janae Vanderpoel, Jarod Hayen, Caitlin McKinley, and Alyssa Galea (last photo in gallery below).
