YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED, VALUED
Capital Project Planning Forum, May 31 & June 4
February 2011--Last year, district officials received the
results of its state-mandated 5-year building/architectural review. What they
learned was certain areas of the district's buildings are pushing the health and
safety barrier, and are in dire need of repair (leaky MS/HS roof, structurally
unsafe bus garage, etc.). However, before the district puts forth a capital
project aimed at addressing these problems as well as other concerns raised by students and staff,
the community's input is being sought.
"The school district is a major part of this community, and we want the people
who make up our community to be involved," says Superintendent Christine
Crowley.
"We know there are many areas of our buildings that need to be repaired, areas
that would be better for our students if they were renovated, and even more
areas that can be restructured for safety, but we don't
want to do this without our community telling us what they want," adds Crowley.
