Fifth-graders recreate coffeehouse era of the 60s and 70s
Local senior citizens group participates, shares
stories

July 13, 2009— Adorned in tie-dyed t-shirts and
beads, Linda Armour’s fifth-graders recreated the hip coffeehouse
era of the 60s and 70s at the end of the school year.
Sipping on coffee, tea, lemonade and iced tea, parents and members
of Scribblers, a local senior citizen writing group, in attendance
listened to students recite poetry and immigration stories they
wrote. They also enjoyed musical performances by Heidi Wenzel on the
piano, Tim Rokos on the banjo and Olivia Munson on the violin.
Some of the senior citizens even shared their personal immigration
stories.
