FLES program receives award
Duanesburg's successful Foreign Language Early Start (FLES) program at the elementary school received, on behalf of teacher Ana Valladares, the Sally G. Hahn Outstanding FLES Program Award which is sponsored by the New York State Association for Foreign Language Teachers (NYSAFLT).
The committee was impressed with the scope of Duanesburg's
FLES program and the many activities that the program supports. The award
includes a $1,000 grant to be used for supplies and equipment specifically for
the FLES program, which is aimed at teaching a second language to students as
early as kindergarten. Additionally, FLES teacher Ana Valladares will be
presenting Duanesburg's program at the Annual NYSAFLT conference in October.
Congratulations!
