Congratulations Class of 2010!
June 28, 2010—For the first-time ever, nearly 80 students representing the Class of 2010 walked across the stage at Proctor's Theatre to accept their diplomas on Saturday, June 26.
The 59th annual commencement ceremony was filled with music, laughter and tears of joy from students, faculty members, families and friends.
Senior Class President Shannon Crowley provided the welcoming remarks while Catherine Winters, Alissa Wengenack, Vicki Cramer, Amanda Moore, Kevin O'Connor, Cianan Murphy and Gianna Leffingwell led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Valedictorian Allison Paludi and Salutatorian Catherine Winters gave encouraging speeches.
Duanesburg High School Principal Beth DeLuke presented students with more than 60 scholarship awards while Superintendent Christine Crowley and Board of Education President Carlos Moreno awarded diplomas.
Throughout the evening, the Select Choir, under the direction of music teacher Mira Ordon, performed “Pomp and Circumstance,” “The National Anthem,” and “Stand By Me.”
