May 11, 2010—A grassroots group of parents and teachers remains committed to raising enough money to fund an auditorium building project within the school district.

The group recently raised $400 during their second annual Arts and Crafts festival at the high school on May 1. The event featured more than 20 vendors, hands-on workshops, a raffle, Mexican bistro and baked goods.

Many students volunteered their time and local organizations donated raffle prizes and gift certificates.

Although the total amount raised and attendance was less than expected, Dionne Grygas, a parent who helped establish the committee, coined the event a success.

"We are building a foundation and getting people to think about an auditorium as a possible reality," said Grygas. "Over time it will happen because we care enough to try. Thank you to all who helped and to those who came."
