Congratulations varsity wrestlers, modified basketball teams
Feb. 11, 2010—Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team
for winning the Class “D” Wrestling Tournament last weekend. The wrestlers had
an outstanding performance with 10 athletes competing in the finals and three
others placing in the top five for their weight class. The students listed below
will be representing Duanesburg at the Section II Tournament on Friday and
Saturday, Feb. 12 and 13, at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Jim Dykeman, first place, gold
Nick Gwiazdowski, first place, gold
Connor Lawrence, second place, silver
Dallas Mesick, third place, bronze
Jerry Mesick, fifth place (won an alternate spot for the tournament)

Randy White, first place, gold
Randy White set a new school record by winning his 194th varsity match. The
previous record was held by 2008 graduate Brian Borst.
Modified basketball teams
Congratulations are also in order for the boys and girls' modified basketball
teams. The girls' team beat the BKW Bulldogs 43-5 on Saturday, Feb. 6—winning
their sixth game of the season. Rachel Gamache, Hannah Antillon, Mikayla Wolken
and Tori Powers led the attack in which nearly every Lady Eagle scored a basket.
The seventh grade boys' modified team won against BKW 42-26 on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Nick Loukides and Liam Flaherty led the team with ten points and nine points,
respectively. The seventh-graders improved their record with an impressive 9-1
record. The eighth-grade team played a hard fought game that went down to the
wire. Tyler Brown and Elijah Casper led the team scoring eight points and seven
points, respectively.
