Kindergarten registration materials to be mailed in early February

Jan. 12, 2010—Kindergarten registration information will be mailed in early February to all eligible families who have completed the district's census form. All paperwork must be returned to the district by February 10.

To register for kindergarten this September, children must be five years old by December 1, 2010.

If you are new to the district and have not yet completed a Census Form for your children, please contact the elementary school office at 895-8310. If your child is eligible for kindergarten and you have not received registration information by February 5, please call the elementary school.

Kindergarten registration will be held on April 22, from 3-4 p.m. at Duanesburg Elementary School.

The following items must be presented during registration:

Birth certificate or other legal proof of age;

Guardianship/custodial documentation;

Immunization records; and

Three proofs of residency, as outlined in district procedures.

New York State law also requires that children must have the following immunizations, before they can enter kindergarten:

3 doses of diphtheria;

3 doses of polio;

2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps and rubella); and

1 dose of varicella (chicken pox) vaccine.
