Closings and Delays

When the Duanesburg Central School District is forced to close schools, delay start times or dismiss students early due to inclement weather or other emergency conditions, that information will be reported on the homepage of the district Web site.

Other ways to find out about emergency school closings and delays:

• > Sign-up for the School News Notifier service to receive a text message on your cell phone or an e-mail in your inbox.
• > Call 895-8310, ext. 800 between 6 and 6:15 a.m. This is a phone extension at the elementary school devoted to providing updates on school closings/delays.
• > Stay tuned to media reports by watching the TV news, radio or media Web sites.

School Closing Network
The district participates in the School Closings Network in cooperation with the Albany Times-Union, and any delay or cancellation will be announced on their Web site as well as the following television stations:

• > Channel 6 (WRGB)
• > Capital News 9
• > Channel 10 (WTEN)
• > Channel 13 (WNYT)
• > Fox 23 (WXXA)

When the district is operating on a one-hour delay, cereal and toast will be served for breakfast. No breakfast will be served in the event of a two-hour delay.
